Meryl and Ian played for the Duke of Wellington’s Dancers Ball on 27 July 2026 at Rownham’s House, Southampton. The theme for this Ball was Tea and Cake and dances included:
The City Cake, The Milk Sop, Salamanca Castanets (Caster Sugarnets!), The Muffin, The Dairy Maid, Queen of Spain’s Sevil Orange, The Dairy Maid, The Tea Room, Geoffrey Muffincap’s Frolic, Queen of Hearts, Les Anglois, The Tea Pot, Jenny Put the Kettle On and The Merry Party.
Shirley entertained us with facts about the development of coffee houses in England and did great work calling the dances, with Jorien helping out calling one so Shirley could dance!

We enjoyed meeting some dancers from Spain who had joined us for this Ball. Everyone socialised with a picnic before the Ball outside in the grounds of Rownham’s House before working hard in the ballroom.
