Meryl and Ian have recorded an album of dances called Queen Charlotte’s Birthday Balls 1762-1802.

The dances on this album use Country Dancing tunes reported to have featured at the various Birthday Balls from 1762-1802 which were held for Queen Charlotte, or are tunes/dances which have a connection to her. It’s not possible to know which figures would have been danced to these tunes at the balls, the suggested figures attached are as good a choice as any. Most of the tunes are known from multiple sources, an example has been chosen and interpreted.
The album also includes a PDF dance booklet of suggested interpreted instructions by Jorien.
There are 13 dances and also 3 minuets. The minuets do not have any particular choreography attached to them but we have included music for them on the album since these Birthday Balls would have started with Minuet dancing.
